Bakhvi 1 Hydropower Project Grant Competition Announced
The social program developed by the Bakhvi 1 Hydropower Plant Project implementing company CCEH Hydro VI is carried on. Starting from Summer 2022, renewable energy awareness training sessions will be available to Mtispiri Public School senior grades students. This initiative implies sharing knowledge on renewable energy and also possibilities for future career orientation for those senior grade students who have not yet made plans on the future of their education.
On February 14, 2022, the Bakhvi 1 Hydropower Plant Project grant competition was announced. The announcement is posted on web portal www.jobs.ge. The detailed announcement can be accessed via the following link: https://jobs.ge/ge/ads/?view=jobs&id=354692.
"As you know, our project's social program was developed in consultation with local population. I am pleased that the company and locals mostly share the same vision. We believe the key priorities are facilitating future generation's education, raising awareness on renewable energy, career orientation, funding education or scholarship program for those students who choose ecology, environmental science, hydrogeology, engineering or energy occupations as their career. That's how we intend to get the local youth interested in the careers that will be demanded in future. Currently, we have a grant competition announced, through which we would like to select the best professionals who will periodically conduct meetings with senior grade students. To ensure high level of transparency and engagement, the Advisory Board members of the Bakhvi 1 Hydropower Plant Project will partake in the selection process of the training implementing organization," said David Mikeladze, ESG Manager of the project.
CCEH Hydro VI is an implementing organization for the run-off-river Bakhvi 1 Hydropower Plant Project on the Bakhvistskali river. The project held public presentations of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report February 10 and 11 in Chokhatauri, Ozurgeti, Mtispiri and Chkhakaura.
Public hearing of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report for construction and operation of the run-off-river Bakhvi 1 Hydropower Plant was held on February 10, 2022, at the Administrative Buildings of Chokhatauri and Ozurgeti Municipalities respectively.
