Bakhvi 1 Hydropower Plant Social Program Launched in 2022 with Teacher Training
On April 1, 2 and 3, 2022, teachers of Mtispiri Public School and Kindergarten of Ozurgeti Municipality, and also teachers of Chkhakaura Public School of Chokhatauri Municipality, together with the Heads of Resource Centers of both municipalities (42 teachers), attended training, specifically planned and organized for teachers by Bakhvi 1 Hydropower Plant. The teacher training module program was developed together with the experts of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia with the aim to provide participants with key directions in the framework of general education reform, provide information for better planning, management, and evaluation of the learning process. This is a modern approach gradually introduced in the reform process by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. The teachers received information about the new directions from the experts on the reform. The training was conducted by Mari Chikobava, Deputy Head of the Preschool and General Education Development Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, and Niko Silagadze, a National Curriculum Development Expert at the Ministry of Education and Science.
"The training is designed for people involved in the education reform process, who need systematic information to understand the overall picture of the reform. During our meetings, participants learn about the concept of reform, key legislation, implementation tools and training resources. I think this type of training will have a positive effect on the general education reform process. It will help increase internal motivation of school community members and build collaborative relationships between the school and external organizations," said Niko Silagadze, National Curriculum Development Expert at the Ministry of Education and Science.
"The education support component takes a serious and important place in the social program of Bakhvi 1 Hydropower Plant, which, as you already know, was developed together with the population. We have developed projects that respond to the challenges facing kindergarten children, as well as schoolchildren and college students. We believe that in this context, teachers are our direct target audience and their professional development is extremely important. They should be updated on current developments in the sector and apply this knowledge when working with youth. That is why we invited the experts of the Ministry. The module offered by them turned out to be so interesting for the teachers that we have practically 100% attendance at the training," said Davit Mikeladze, ESG Manager of the Bakhvi 1 Hydropower Plant Project.
