"We believe that the hydropower plants in the riverbed should be managed by a unified policy. This was one of the recommendations Pierre Biedermann, invited French expert, he shared with us as a result of a cumulative research carried out for the Bakhvi 1 HPP project. He advised us that in order to minimize the impact on the environment, it was necessary to coordinate with other projects on the perimeter of the Bakhvistskali River. This suggestion was defining point to make a decision on development of Bakhvi 2 HPP project. All our intentions or actions will be aimed at mitigating the environmental impact as much as possible. The existence of a single responsible organization will reduce time for decision-making and implementation and will be also easier in terms of control" - said Mikheil Nibladze, Director of Caucasus Clean Energy Holding.
